At IIUM, we believe that all students deserve an opportunity to fulfil their studies. For that, our financial unit regularly provides funds and scholarships to eligible students, as well as acts as the liaison between students and our various sponsors. Here financial assistance and sponsors given from IIUM:

IIUM Undergraduate Ummatic Scholarship for New Intake International Student is a Scholarship
awarded to needy, deserving and demonstrating academic excellence records.
 Eligibility:
• Registered as a full-time Undergraduate student
• Do not receive any other scholarship
• Needy students as identified by the University authority
• Student with excellent academic standing records

IIUM Undergraduate Ummatic Scholarship is a Scholarship awarded to poor, needy, deserving and academically outstanding in recognition of their achievement, and study at IIUM.

 

A student who fulfils the following criteria can apply:
• Registered as a full-time Undergraduate student
• Do not receive any other scholarship
• Poor (Needy) students as identified by the University authority
• SECOND-YEAR student and above (at Kulliyyah level)
• Student with excellent academic standing with a CGPA of 3.60 and above (minimum of 15 credit hours).
• Students from Muslim Minority countries with a CGPA of 3.00 (minimum of 15 credit hours) may apply for the scholarship.

 

• Not eligible to:
i. Student under critical programmes offered by the University i.e. related to executive programme and other programmes as determined by the University.
ii. Student who is still under the pre-sessional and bridging programme.

The IIUM Academic Excellence Award is an award given to academically outstanding students in recognition of their achievement, and study at IIUM.

 

Students who fulfil the following criteria can apply:
• Registered as a full-time Undergraduate student
• Second semester and above at Kulliyyah level
• Student with excellent academic standing (CGPA 3.80 and above with 15 credit hours)
• Self-sponsored and loan recipient only

 

The University currently could not provide the Academic Excellence Award to the following:

• Students under critical programmes offered by the University i.e. executive programme and other programmes as determined by the University
• Student who is still under pre-sessional and bridging programme

IIUM Tuition Fee Reduction is a financial assistance given to poor, needy and deserving International Undergraduate students to reduce their tuition fees charged by the University.

 

Students who fulfil all the following criteria can apply:
• International student.
• Registered as a full-time Undergraduate student.
• Second-year student at Kulliyyah level and above.
• Do not receive any other scholarship.
• Student with a CGPA of 3.0 and above (with at least 15.0 credit hours) based on the University’s general academic workload policy.
• Poor student (needy) as identified by the University authority.
• Show commitment to paying the balance of the outstanding debt.

 

The University currently could not provide the Tuition Fee Reduction for the following:

• Students under critical programmes offered by the University i.e. related medical programmes, executive programmes and other programmes as determined by the University.
• student who is still under the pre-sessional and bridging programme.

The Malaysian Tuition Fee Rate is financial assistance currently given to Palestinian students who are staying in Gaza or any conflict area in Palestine. This rate is given for ONLY ONE LEVEL (either Degree/Master or PhD) OF STUDY AT IIUM.

 

Students who fulfill all the following criteria can apply:
• Registered as a full-time Undergraduate and Postgraduate student from Palestine
• First-semester student at Kulliyyah level and above
• Do not receive any other scholarship
• Needy student.

 

The University currently could not provide the Malaysian Tuition Fee Rate for the following:
• Students under critical programmes offered by the University i.e executive programme and other programmes as determined by the University.
• Student who is still under pre-sessional and bridging programme
• Student who has already enjoyed receiving Malaysian tuition fee rate during their Undergraduate/postgraduate programme. This facility is only given ONCE to Palestinian student studying at IIUM.

The objective of the above scholarship is the initiative by IIUM to attract the best brain from around the world to pursue advanced academic studies at IIUM.

 

Eligibility Criteria

PhD and Master
• Applicants must have publications (min. one) in a reputable academic journal
• Applicants with an IELTS of 6.00 or TOEFL 550 will be given priority
• Only 1 student shall be eligible from the same country every time
• Applicant must be offered by IIUM and active student
• Not eligible for the Executive programme
• Applicants’ results of previous studies should be excellent based on the result status of the country he/she came from (Master’s/UG result)

 

Undergraduate
• Applicants must be top students in their past academic results
• Applicants with an IELTS of 6.00 or TOEFL 550 will be given priority
• Only 1 student shall be eligible from the same country every time
• European students: Result must be 16 up to 20 points
• Other applicants must be achievers of more than 85 marks
• CGPA 3.60
• Applicant must be offered by IIUM and active student
• Not eligible for the Executive programme

General Condition of Sheikh Humaid Scholarship

• Scholarship will be awarded for one year. If the recipient maintains the requirements, will be reviewed after 1 year, otherwise will be automatically revoked;
• Shall not change programme without prior approval from the office of the Dep. Rector (Academic and Internationalisation);
• PG recipient shall not reside in the Elite room without prior approval from the office of the Dep. Rector (Academic and Internationalisation);

• UG recipient shall not reside in PG/Elite room without prior approval from the office of the Dep. Rector (Academic and Internationalisation);

The objectives of financial assistance:
a) To help needy students who have graduated, but are not able to pay fees and thus not able to collect their certificates to start working in their home countries.
b) To assist active but needy students to unblock their accounts for registration after they have made their effort to pay their dues.

a) The selection of the student will be based on family conditions and effort by the students.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. AISF is open to all International Students of IIUM.
2. Applicants must be needy, registered and full-time students of IIUM (not from the affiliated organizations).
3. Applicants are not sponsored by any organization during the period of the offer.
4. Applicants must obtain at least a 3.00 CGPA. However, the Committee might consider students below a CGPA of 3.00 on case to case basis.
5. Priority will be given to students from countries facing difficulties and Muslim minorities.
6. Priority also will be given to students in Revealed Knowledge, Human and Social Sciences.
7. All successful applicants must attend the programme organized by the IEF on a proactive basis.
8. All successful applicants must abide by the rules and regulations of the University and IEF both inside and outside the Campus.
9. IEF reserves the right to terminate the assistance without further notice if any of the above conditions have not been observed by the applicants
10. All documents submitted with the application form will be the property of IEF. Any attempt for the retrieval of the documents will not be entertained.
11. – Best Master Student of each Kulliyyah Award from other Public Universities:
Any award that relates to academic excellence for both at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.

– The applicant must have secured a GRA position with a reasonable monthly stipend from government-based research grants that require the production of human talent.
– Graduate with a first class from either a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme
– Evidence that the supervisor has conducted a thorough assessment and selection of applications on both aptitude and personality
– Continuous support from the package is subjected to good research progress to be evaluated every 2 semesters.

 

BENEFIT

Package:
– To cover tuition fee (full or partial) for an initial 2 semesters for both Master’s and PhD.
– Local students shall be endowed with a 100% tuition scholarship
– International students shall be endowed with a 50% tuition scholarship

 The Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail is awarding Royal Scholarships to students pursuing PhD studies at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

 

REQUIREMENT ELIGIBILITY:

  • D students by Research Mode only.
  • Open for new intake & current students

(Maximum: 1st-year students)

  • Must not be a recipient of any scholarship
  • Fulfil IIUM language requirement
  • The research topic is highly recommended to be related to the development of the State of Perlis
  • Priority of the scholarship will be given to “Anak Perlis”

Criteria:
i. Open to all full-time undergraduate student (status active) at least 2 years and above;
ii. Actively involved in community engagement activities;
i. Preferable registered B40 student;
ii. Minimum CGPA at least 2.7 and above;
iii. Hold any position in the registered clubs and societies;
iv. No disciplinary records;
v. Recommended by the Deputy Dean (Student Development and Community Engagement) at respective Kulliyyah / Director of Centre / Division / Institute / Office;
vi. Obtained recognition and achievement from the University;
vii. Participated at least 2 (two) national level programmes; and
viii. Obtained co-curricular total point at least 2700.

ELIGIBILITY AND CRITERIA

The purpose of the IIUM Scholarship and Financial Assistance (ALSAFA) Fund is to assist needy students of IIUM. The Fund is a generous contribution by the IIUM alumni and the general public for outstanding underprivileged youths to study at IIUM. It is open to Malaysian and non-Malaysian students from all Kulliyyahs.

 

BENEFIT

• As a full scholarship for outstanding underprivileged students by covering all fees for the duration of their studies.

• As financial assistance where the students will get a partial allowance on a short-term basis.
