Kuala Lumpur, 24 October 2025 – The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), through its Finance Division, organised a Financial Sustainability Discussion Session today at Universiti Malaya (UM). The session brought together representatives from public universities and KPT to explore strategies for ensuring financial sustainability in higher education.
Discussions focused on effective financial management, resource optimisation, budgeting, cost management, revenue generation, and risk mitigation, to promote long-term sustainability while maintaining quality and accessibility in higher education. Participants also exchanged insights on collaborative approaches between universities and the ministry to address emerging financial challenges.
This initiative underscores the commitment of public universities and KPT to fostering a resilient and sustainable financial ecosystem that supports the growth and development of higher education in Malaysia.
