Background
Student welfare is an important component in the overall management of student matters. Thus, The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) emphasizes the significance of a Welfare Management Unit to provide support and services to the huge population of students. It is worth mentioning that IIUM is currently educating approximately 25,000 students. Among them, 4000 are International students coming from more than 100 countries. Therefore, there is no doubt the integration and acculturation processes may impact both their social and psychological well-being.
Accordingly, at the IIUM, a mechanism to address the welfare and wellbeing of the students comes into being under the purview of the Students Affairs and Development Division.

To provide a conducive environment to promote their physical, mental, and social well-being
To offer advice and guidance to students who are in need
To offer support and assistance where possible to students with financial difficulties

This programme offers initiatives such as Food Coupon, Food Bank and Food Corner.
Our Services
IIUM B40 Application
This assistance is to assist students who are in dire need of financial assistance and who face difficulties while studying at IIUM.
Khairat Financial Assistance
This assistance is to assist students who are in dire need of financial assistance and who face difficulties while studying at IIUM.
Mahabbah Food Programme
This programme is an effort done to help the students of IIUM who are in need by providing them with free meals. It is hoped that this can at least lessen the financial burden that the students are facing and help them to get the essential daily meals to keep them going and focused on their studies.
Handling Emergency Cases
WMU provides crucial support during urgent situations involving students. This service includes coordinating care for sick or hospitalized students and managing the sensitive process following the death of a student. WMU ensures that all necessary arrangements are made efficiently, offering compassion and support to students and their families during difficult times.
Student Employement on Campus (SEOC)
This service provides financial assistance to IIUM B40 and disabled students. It offers work experience, preparing them for future employment, while also supporting university projects with short-term help.
Insurance Coverage and Claim
This service ensures that all IIUM students, both Malaysian and international, are insured by Etiqa General Takaful Bhd. This coverage offers financial protection in cases of bodily injury or death caused by accidental means, providing students and their families with essential support during unforeseen circumstances.
IIUM Sulung Programme
Sulung Programme is a scholarship programme, aim to assist the student from the B40 income bracket. This is a scholarship programme, in which selected candidate will get fee waiver for all university fees, with the exception of hostel fee and any other fee impose on external programme or from professional bodies.
