Director's Preface

Assalamualaikum and Salam Sejahtera

My Dearest Brothers and Sisters,

It is with immense pleasure and pride that I extend my heartfelt greetings to the 118,928 alumni of IIUM spread across the globe. As the Director of the Alumni Relations Division, I am honoured to connect with you through the Alumni Relations Division (ARD), which serves as a bridge linking the past, present, and future of our cherished alma mater.

Since the establishment of our beloved university back in 1984, despite experiencing different campus life, whether we had nestled at various locations such as Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Bangsar, Lembah Pantai, Nilai, Jalan Duta, Bandar Indra Mahkota, Teruntum, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu (KUSZA) and Gombak, we actually share common stories of living together at our quarters and staying focus in classroom with our friends from different parts of the world. Most importantly, we try to become good Muslim and individuals by learning from our teachers and Murabbi.

Not to forget our moment when we completed our studies with joyful smiles and attended convocation ceremonies at Pusat Islam, Dewan PWTC, Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil and IIUM Cultural Centre or previously known as Cultural Activity Centre. We feel proud of becoming IIUM Alumni.

As IIUM alumni, we are not only ambassadors of our alma mater but also torchbearers for the next generation of students. Our success stories serve as beacons of inspiration, guiding our current students towards becoming responsible and compassionate leaders in their own domains.

The IIUM alumni community, represents a diverse array of talents, experiences, and achievements, embodying IIUM's mission and vision to cultivate graduates who excel academically while remaining ethically grounded, prepared to embrace their role as true khalifahs of the world.

One of the primary objectives of Alumni Relations Division is to foster a strong sense of belonging among us and encourage active engagement with our alma mater. I believe that our experiences, expertise, and networks are invaluable resources that can significantly contribute to the development of IIUM. Whether it is through mentorship programmes, financial assistance via ALASAFA, collaborative initiatives, or knowledge-sharing sessions, our involvement can shape the future of our beloved university.

InshaAllah, our division is commited to orchestrating a series of initiatives aimed to engage more participations of IIUM alumni returning to their alma mater and meeting our lecturers and colleagues reminiscing about shared experiences and cherished moments from our time at the kulliyyah or mahallah together with our family and children.

I invite my brothers and sisters to stay connected, share our achievements, and participate in the various activities and programs organized by the Alumni Relations Division. Let us collectively contribute to the growth and success of IIUM, creating a legacy that reflects the values of Islamic scholarship, compassion, and excellence.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to witnessing the positive impact our global alumni community will make on the world.

Wassalam,

#IIUMAlumni #OurAlumniOurPride
