InterLibrary Loan
IIUM Library provides Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and Document Delivery Services (DDS) to obtain materials not available in our collection, either from local or overseas libraries. These services aim to support library clients and member libraries in their teaching, learning, and research needs. Please note that charges may apply, especially for requests from overseas libraries.
Guidelines:
This service is available to all registered clients of IIUM Library, including faculty and students. Only eligible external clients may use this service. This excludes daily pass holders, monthly clients, and retirees, who are not eligible.
This service is based on the following conditions:
- Requested materials must be for teaching, academic, or research purposes only.
- The requested item must be unavailable in the IIUM Library collection, or its status in the Library Catalogue (OPAC) must be indicated as ‘On Loan’, ‘Missing’, ‘Lost’, or ‘Damaged’.
- The requestor is encouraged to identify the holding library and to provide the necessary details as indicated in the provided form such as the call number, title, and location.
- Any applicable fees must be paid by the requestor, especially for international requests.
- The library may recall ILL materials before their due date. An overdue fine of RM0.50/day applies.
- Renewals are subject to approval from the lending library.
A requestor may request up to two (2) ILL books at one time.
Registered clients may submit ILL/DDS requests for materials from IIUM branch libraries or other universities via the online request form.
